Assuming that this does come out today, then the combination of a new installer and a new mediaVP should absolutely trigger a big advertising blitz. There're lots of FS fans out there who don't even know  how excited they're going to be about this in the near future. :D

Well, we would probably need a new SCP release first.  Otherwise everyone is going to complain that 3.7.0 doesn't work with the 2014 mediaVPs, or that the pilot stats are getting wiped.

Yeah, and that'll give us a window to stress test the installer and make sure it doesn't cause ships to (say) hurtle off into space at hundreds of meters a second instead of warping out

I am especially interested in feedback on the error-handling mechanisms.  It's great if it works from start to finish, but it will be more interesting to see how well it fails.
