Well then nod32 is WRONG. Seriously, I really don't think Droid803 would start spreading viruses in his campaigns.

Yes, it is. Something in its signature engine is mistaking something in FSO for a virus. This sort of thing happens every once in a while, and it always, always is an error on the part of the antivirus software.

Your build's out of date, get the latest RC.
Yes, it is. Something in its signature engine is mistaking something in FSO for a virus. This sort of thing happens every once in a while, and it always, always is an error on the part of the antivirus software.
It's indeed NOD32's fault. I've scanned it with COMODO AV (both packed and unpacked), just to be sure, and the complete pack is 100% clean (mind, it's a rather paranoid AV).

Just use the build provided. NOD isn't the best AV out there, so I wouldn't be surprised if it gives you a false positive. Some AVs do that, I've checked the files with COMODO (which would have warned me if it really was a virus, as it's pretty reliable) and found nothing. You have nothing to worry about.
Also, posting warning messages in German won't help, since a lot of people on HLP don't speak German.

Then don't play this campaign. Either you trust our word that the build is clean and your antivirus software is giving you a false positive, or you wait until an SCP build with the required features comes out.

I do not speak dutch, but I believe that popup is generated by the heuristics engine in your antivirus program. AGAIN, THIS IS A FALSE POSITIVE. Either ignore it or don't play this campaign.

It is not a virus; your antivirus software is jumping at shadows; it is making a mistake.

If you trust a (fairly dumb I might add) antivirus program over human experts, then I'm afraid you can't be helped.
It's not a virus. It's a program making a mistake, it doesn't even know what it found. If it was a virus, other people would have already said so.

Re: nod32 gives false positive on Ashen Wings - The Shadow Ops
FWIW, I get the occasional crash on my Win 7 x64 system as well using the supplied build (I'll copy it here next time for ppls).

As far as difficulty goes, I found that using normal flight mode was easier than gliding (although I want to try switching it on and off - I was trying with it left on).

Wouter, please, listen: your AV is giving you a false positive.  I've seen this many times.  I go to torrent a useful program and see posts with people hollering "DONT DL ITS A VIRUS! BE WARNED! SNORTIN' NORTON AND MCCRACKAFEE SAID IT WAS A HORRIBLE VIRUS!!!!!!1111ELEVENTY-ONE"

Let me explain:

Your anti-virus has to protect against viruses that are not known yet.  If it did not, then when a virus was released, it would easily find its way past your AV soft every time.  To fight this, the AV soft tries to guess if the file is a virus based on how it "looks".  This is called "heurustics" and it can sometimes protect against viruses that are unknown.  Not always, but sometimes.  The down side is that sometimes, your AV soft will incorrectly mark a file as 'suspicious' or even claim that it thinks that it is a virus.  In this case, you should compare notes with other people who have good antivirus software (like the people here).  You know, AV soft actually also will flag as a virus software that it simply doesn't like, such as software that can modify a program to allow it to be used without paying for it and software that can crack passwords.  This makes it hard to find such tools for legitimate uses (such as recovering passwords from a system that was maliciously password-protected by someone who was not the owner, or software to crack a program that was purchased but the original software key was lost).  This is because, many supposed tools that claim to 'crack' programs to use free or tools that crack passwords can contain viruses, because virus makers know that those tools are wanted by many people and will release viruses that claim to do what people want.  However, the actual cracking software will also be flagged as a virus by the AV soft, either because the process to crack a program is similar to the virus (making the program do something it's not supposed to do, like work for free), or because the AV soft makers have low opinions of what they assume is thievery or malicious behavior).

That being said, wouter, I use Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and they both confirm that the supplied FS2 exe is good.  Try updating NOD32.  If that doesn't work, either tell NOD32 to ignore that file permanently or switch your AV softwae.  You could also make sure that your NOD32 settings are correct.  (Don't set an anti-virus software's settings to 'high security' paranoid mode unless you have a really good reason.)
