"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

That gives me an idea.

Well imagine we come forward and say:
WE ARE HARD LIGHT PRODUCTIONS! YOU WILL LOWER YOUR HEADS AND SURRENDER YOUR WEAPONS! WE WILL ADD YOUR INTELLECTUAL AND VERNACULAR DISTINCTIVENESS TO OUR OWN. YOUR COMMAND CENTERS WILL ADAPT TO SERVE US! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!

One of those evil Pakistanies gets scared and starts to run around in a circle screaming in panic tearing off his hair.

Boy, we could all rule the world with this line! ;7

Nah- y'alls should cone on down to the DC area sometime, right on the border between the Stiff and Hick countries... all sorts of lovely, er, crime out here! And cows, too, depending on which direction you go in! We could all hang out at the abandoned strip mall next to the cow pastures and spit! Watch 15-year-olds try to smoke their lawn clippings and get high! Or, alternately, go find a picket to save the Lesser Fibrous Trouser Snake in the District and shout a lot!

But almost no spitting. I've been there- it's not quite the same, well into Suit territory. We live right on the edge.:D

I mean, hell, I live an equal distance from Washington, DC, and a town called "The Plains"!

Well it doesn't have evil Pakistanies. It is just that everything got mixed up in my head. But, hey I had to read a lot to fix my grade.

Oh and the book is Math 2MX. Nasty book, though so I wouldn't recommend it to ya.
Integration is the hardest thing we learn today. Boy, who's gonna remember all those rules.

I'm going to be buying him alchohol once he gets here, because he doesn't hit 19 until december. (I believe)  The one thing he preferred about Montreal over Vancouver, the legal age is a year lower.

:D LOL is that an integral table? I have memorized some of that stuff but the only really important parts are the substitution rule, partition rule, jacobian, and a few of the elementary integrals. (power rule, trig circular/hyperbolic rules, log rules, etc.) Over here they make a big deal on partial fractions as well but it is pretty useless IMO - takes forever and usefulness is limited. They should spend time on special functions instead, which are much more useful for integrals. (gamma, bessel J, EI, polylog, etc.)

There are some books out there on integral tables only - hundreds of pages of that stuff. There is probably someone out there who has all that memorized. :D

I am lucky in holland we have a standard drinking age of 16 years old. And you can only buy soft alchohol drinks but allot of stores don't care they sell stuff to 14 year old that you officalie only can buy when you are 18.

O well but nobody realy follows that rule here.
