Has anybody figured out why FS2 crashes when you try and look at the weapons from mods?

It would be realy cool if somebody figured out what causes that to happen.

I think it might have something to do with breaks between entries.
Just a guess though.

Never really been able to isolate this problem, but I think it has something to do with conflicts between the weapon lists in the player files and the weapon lists in the tables. It sometimes works when a new pilot is used and sometimes does not, at least for me.

i think that fixed by creating a new pilot.

I know that making a new pilot can let you view new ships.  I'll go try it in the weapons room and see if it works.

Yeah, that sometimes works and sometimes does not; there is probably at least one other factor involved there.

It's quite simple really, the tech rooms aboard the Aquitaine are run by Ugnaught slaves, who work in the worst possible conditions, as a result they rebels and cause errors like this one.

you require... mental assistance...

anyways, I always thought it was because there has to be an exact amount of spaces between the entries. The weapons table parser can understand it, therefor allowing the weapons to work... but something in the techroom code dosn't like the spaces...

The thing is that the number of lines between each weapon entry are not consistent in the original weapons.tbl either; two lines seems to be the standard, but I remember seeing some one-line breaks as well.

If you have a tech room ani for it, I don't think it crashes.....

Did you know that one of my many teachers for business GNVQ looks just like an Ugnaught? He is also a fool, and could have been the subject of a particularly controversial episode of BrassEye.

Weapons do work If you have tech room anis for them I have done this with several weapons
