So, i just recently got into FS2 open and all this modding stuff and i found BP and downloaded it and such. i followed all the instructions to the letter and found that AOA wouldnt work. i click continue (i just started so im trying to start the campain) and it sits for a few seconds and then an error pops up with a bunch of ship names. it doesnt say what is wrong just error and a lot of names. i messed around for a little and downloaded everything but to no avail. i tried War in Heaven and that works fine

i moved all my files to my desktop, and i got the assets vp but i still get the same problem

In regards to the location where you put your FreeSpace2 folder: it should NOT be Program files, the desktop or Documents.

C:\Games\freespace2 is a popular, working location.

according to the log file the game still resides in C:\Program Files (x86)

Remember that you have to move the entire FS2 install, not just BP, and to unpack the assets update.
If you done that, then, it seems like you uploaded the old log.

Yeah, "C:\Users\Peter Forshaw\Desktop\Freespace 2" is still a long absolute path. You should move the whole thing to something like C:\Games\Freespace2, really.

That's odd. I just compared Forshado's bp checksums with mine, and they all match except for one: bp-core. On the other hand, Forshado's match headdie's.

Could someone else with a valid BP install post his/her checksums?

I don't know my way around log files, so I made a checksum file of the Blueplanet directory with Hashcheck.  To the best of my knowledge this is a working install, but I haven't played it in a while.  Nothing should have changed since the last time though.  Drop the blueplanet.md5 Rename blueplant.txt to blueplanet.md5, drop it right in your freespace2 directory and double click it with the prog above installed if you don't want to comb through it yourself.  I find it's a handy thing to have installed anyway, I like it better than Hashtab because of the checksum files.
