Not that HLP isn't good enough, just wondering what else is out there? What forums and communities do you frequent? I'm getting tired of reddit, and besides that and here I generally use HomebuiltAirplanes and occasionally conceptart.org, with a smattering of Luxology's forums.

I spend a lot of my time aroung the BattleTech forums, and more recently the Leviathans forums.  I actually hold the spot for "Most time spent online" for the Leviathans one, by almost four days.  It's actually kind of sad when I think about it.

Something Awful forums are pretty damn good. Very tightly moderated with good posting encouraged and **** posting crushed. The banhammer flies fast and loose, forcing people to actually think (usually) before writing something. Also has great smilies.

Reddit on the other hand, is absolutely terrible. A bunch of smug little assholes who think they're way smarter than they actually are scrambling over each other for upvotes.

I hang out mostly of here and lurk on reddit or 4chan out of boredom and warhammer forums (warseer, dakkadakka).

Besides the obvious Sectorgame, my main other hangout at this point is the [adult swim] forums; I've been there for several years and have something of a small community role.  I make the occasional post on OverClocked ReMix, which is mostly TF2-related, since I play that and L4D2 with a bunch of people from there.  I did a decent amount of posting on Anime News Network in the past, but I haven't been on there for a while.  There were a few others that have mostly disappeared or fallen by the wayside.

Oh, and there's also the Descent Bulletin Board, but I think that's more of an exercise in frustration than anything else.

Skim Online Message Board, but I'm not sure why.  The off-topic section is basically like reddit.  Or so I assume based on what I hear about it, as I've never once visited reddit.  Pretty much all of the regulars ARE the retards on reddit.  They always come in with links to their posts bragging about how witty they think they are and brofists are passed around.  The actual skim areas of the board are filled with these same ****ers trolling and abusing new members, bad advice flying everywhere, intentional or not, and a LOT of new users posting the same questions time after time, kinda like our "when is FS3 coming out?"  If you ever decide you want to take up skimboarding, stay FAR away from this message board until you've got a decent bit of experience.  If I had found this place first, I never would have started.  I guess the reason I go back is you can occasionally pick up good info from the couple of old legends and industry guys that are there, and to look out for general news and any interesting new videos.  Like this one.

The only other board I go to is a small offshoot of a band's message board a long time ago.  No link, I'm not inflicting any of you guys on that board

Other than here, all I really frequent is probably xda, 4chan (/g/,/k/,/sci/,/v/ | in order of frequency) and I lurk the **** out of Slashdot. Used to hit ZDaemon and Doomworld up frequently, but they've slowed down lately.

With that list I guess I must be immune to ****posting.

In a similar vein, I frequent the subreddits /r/conspiratard and /r/enoughpaulspam which is based on mocking websites like this and the nonsense they peddle.

Other than that, I'm on a social networking site for certain kinds of people. It's one of the ways I try to keep myself socially active.

Okay, I'll bite.

I would suggest that a disproportionately large number of "bronies" are of the worst variety. Bronyism is akin to ironic fad-like fanboyism turned into actual "way-of-life ™" It's the worst kind of meme that has taken a life of its own. It will die down as they all do, and it will be nice. Until then, it will ravage the internet like the plague that it is, and eventually end up on 9gag to die a slow painful death.

EDIT: Just to mention, I watched the brony movement start. It was mostly ironic ****posting of "General MLP" threads on /b/ every ****ing 30 minutes for a few weeks straight. It spread like wildfire from there.
