Re: HLPX-COM 3: A Very Firaxis Sequel
Well, I always wanted to go out with a bang :P  Pity it wasn't larger and didn't take any ETs with it.  And a real shame we don't have a target to launch nukes at.
<Nuclear>   truth: the good samaritan actually checked for proof of citizenship and health insurance
<Axem>   did anyone catch jesus' birth certificate?
<Nuclear>   and jesus didnt actually give the 5000 their fish...he gave it to the romans and let it trickle down
<Axem>and he was totally pro tax breaks
<Axem>he threw out all those tax collectors at the temple
<Nuclear>   he drove a V8 camel too
<Nuclear>   with a sword rack for his fully-automatic daggers

Esarai: hey gaiz, what's a good improvised, final attack for a ship fighting to buy others time to escape to use?
RangerKarl|AtWork: stick your penis in the warp core
DarthGeek: no don't do that
amki: don't EVER do that

Speaking of which - Y U only have 1 satellite?

Sat = cash = love.

You might want to read the last update, which sorta mentions this.

EDIT: or maybe not. Anyways this was literally my first game, I derped out on placement, put it where I didn't have interceptors.

Re: HLPX-COM 3: A Very Firaxis Sequel
Unknown log.
Personnel: "z64555" - head of technology, HLPX-COM 3

So, it's come to this again. I've prepared a chrono capsule that can contain most of our mission records. But, in order to keep paradoxes from occurring, data, and only data, can be sent back in time. (and even then the chances of the data being intact is... slim).

I would have so liked to be able to send some physical matter back along with the capsule, other than just a bunch of solid-state drives and our prayers. Maybe not a full person, but one of our most recent weapons or armor we had just discovered... but that's neither here or there.

To those reading this. Know that we did our best, and we all hope, and pray, that you will succeed where we have failed.

At this rate maybe we should kick a bomb off the deck of the ranger, level the area, then send in troops....

I suggested the nuclear option, but it apparently upsets the involved countries more than Earth being conquered.

I must always be one of the pilots.  I just must.  Still haven't died from that original HLPX-COM LP. :P

Re: HLPX-COM 3: A Very Firaxis Sequel
I'm...probably going to take a break after this, and do some kind of Rebuild bit later. Once I've run this one into the ground.

Because I think I've said it, but actually having all you guys get killed, over and over, has a surprisingly hard impact on me in this game. You're not very 2D anymore and you actually have death screams that sound like screams and you're still folks I kinda like, so losing you is considerably more painful than when we were running around in spriteland in 1 and 2.

I know what you mean. This LP did seem to be a bit more of a downer than last time, even on this end. I wonder how to fix that? Turn off the sound, use funny colored armor? I wonder if there's a mod that lets you clone dead soldiers, or have them always be critically wounded (with no stat debuffs) instead of deaded?

Re: HLPX-COM 3: A Very Firaxis Sequel
I too desire reincarnation.
17:37:02   Quanto: I want to have sexual intercourse with every space elf in existence
17:37:11   SpardaSon21: even the males?
17:37:22   Quanto: its not gay if its an elf

[21:51] <@Droid803> I now realize
[21:51] <@Droid803> this will be SLIIIIIGHTLY awkward
[21:51] <@Droid803> as this rich psychic girl will now be tsundere for a loli.
[21:51] <@Droid803> OH WELLL.

See what you're missing in #WoD and #Fsquest?

[07:57:32] <Caiaphas> inspired by HerraTohtori i built a supermaneuverable plane in ksp
[07:57:43] <Caiaphas> i just killed my pilots with a high-g maneuver
[07:58:19] <Caiaphas> apparently people can't take 20 gees for 5 continuous seconds
[08:00:11] <Caiaphas> the plane however performed admirably, and only crashed because it no longer had any guidance systems

Entry 19:
Date 15-05-15 06:05:32

There's no point, everyone but a few left an hour ago.
I see the head of the technology branch working frenetically on some kind of pod, I don't know what that is but it will surely not help us stop these buggers.

No, that's the goodbye work for me and the other two rookies left.
We're now waiting for the inevitable, right here.. playing cards at the barracks.
I'm sure an alien raid is about to come down. Everyone left... me? where I'm supposed to go now? Is there a place where I can go at all?
