shimmering, refracting, i don't know what the heck you want to call it, but don't try to change the subject.  The point is you've got a stupid link on your sig that everyone clicks on expecting to find your site, and instead they find their way into your 'deep, dark subdirectories'...

I have to admit, as childish as the arguement is, it's damn hillarious to read.  And Stealth, his link doesn't "shimmer".  Shimmering is a kind of property found in transparent liquids or metals when they shine.  You know, shimmer.  an0n's link just has a cool gradient effect going.
