Freespace soundtrack

Hi ppl. I am trying to make myself a FreeSpace soundtrack album, since soundtrack for this game is badass.
Which files should I extract from the VPs?

There are 31 .ogg files in mv_music.vp (mediavps_3612) containing FS2 soundtrack, but there are 53 .wav files in vanilla warble_fs2.vp. Were not all FS2 files upgraded in mv_music? I am aware that high quality versions were obtained from Volition some time ago, so I should probably not use files from vanilla VPs (I presume files in mv_music are the updated ones), but there is more of them there.

Regarding the FS1 soundtrack, there are 111 .wav files in warble_fs1.vp from fsport. Are these the updated versions? I have not found any new .ogg files in the fsport VPs.

Can I obtain the high quality soundtrack somewhere without extracting it from the VPs?

Short Answer: No.

Slightly longer answer: ISTR someone somewhere making an album out of the original tracks. However, I may be misremembering this.

This was very unnecessary; the thread was exactly four entries down the list on the first page and at the current rate of topic generation wouldn't have been pushed off the first page for another month.

MV_music is missing a number of files because Dan Wentz wasn't able to the find high-quality versions of some of the tracks. You'll have to use some of the files from warble_fs2 to compile a complete soundtrack.

Nope, those files (except for one) are from the original game; no high-quality soundtrack has ever been released with FSPort. I did, however, make an upgraded VP early this year, which you can get here.
