Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
TMP wasn't good.  Its a movie full of special effects for their own sake.  And shots of people staring at those effects.

Wrath of Khan was amazing, and remains the best.  Search for Spock was decent.  Voyage Home was good.  Undiscovered Country is the only one that came close to 2.

Generations was total crap.  First Contact was good, but had issues (Borg Queen was a stupid concept).  Insurrection was forgettable and very annoying with its message.  Nemesis was wordlessly bad.

Reboot had serious potential but fell short.  About on the same level as 3, IMO.  The new one could be good as long as they stop relying on outside material for character development and explanations for plot holes.

The Borg Queen wasn't a First Contact invention.  You can blame Voyager for that little gem.

Afraid you've got it backwards. The Borg Queen originated in FC and was later imported to Voyager.

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Ah Voyager, SFDebris' parodies in his reviews of the series have made that disgrace watchable for me again. So much wasted potential though. :sigh:

Also, Lord Battuta is right.

Edit: The Borg "Queen" might have been an interesting concept as a sort of fail-safe against weapons like the fractal-unsolvable math equation discussed on TNG as a way to wipe out the Borg through Hugh, though the title "Queen" would have to be changed in my opinion. Again, wasted potential on Trek.

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Eh, 1 was okay if you watched it way back when, it was mostly showing off, but the whole vyger thing was an interesting forwarding of the general trek picture.
2 was great, 3 was bollocks, 4 was by far my fave, 5 was boring, 6 was pink blood and an awesome round or two of shakespeare, I enjoyed generations because it had been a big gap between the movies and I quite enjoyed seeing Kirk and Picard together.
First contact was enjoyable because ITS A TOMMY GUUUUUUUUUUUUUN, and Assimilate this but ruined by "They've adapted (x1000000000)".
Insurrection I didn't really mind too much but certainly wasn't anywhere near the ones I enjoyed.
Nemesis .......Could only really have worked if it was more like the reboot.
The reboot was awesome (aside from completely destroying canon rather than simply suggesting an alternate reality (which is already canon!) ¬.¬).

Voyager was awesome if you knew all the crap they never explained or even reeeeeeeeeeally hinted at in the series.
Ending was rushed, stuff to do with the borg was horrible(turned them into 'just another race' :I).
"Neutrality means that you don't really care, cuz the struggle goes on even when you're not there: Blind and unaware."

"We still believe in all the things that we stood by before,
and after everything we've seen here maybe even more.
I know we're not the only ones, and we were not the first,
and unapologetically we'll stand behind each word."

fc to me kinda ruined the borg for me. up till then it had kinda been a metaphor for communism. add a queen and now its a monarchy which completely invalidates everything we had come to like about the borg throughout tng. this single episode allowed voyager to completely rape the species. the enterprise borg episode was actually pretty good at giving them the tng treatment despite technically being a sequel (or prequel depending in your temporal frame of reference) to fc. **** you trek, **** off and die.

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
really i kinda think the cardassians do kind of deserve a place in a trek movie. they are a pretty good facist analog and would make a cool ww2 in space kinda trek movie, possibly in the mirror universe. they absolutely should do a mirror universe movie, its the only way they can possibly redeem trek. **** this alternate reality ****, at least the mirror universe is tos canon.

And take a complete piss on everything every previous series and films said about temporal mechanics.  And present a cavalier attitude toward death.  And-- gonna stop now before I get angry, again.

It was a superficial and inconsistent sequel to a superficial and inconsistent franchise, what did you expect?

lol at the idea of Trek having anything like a consistent concept of temporal mechanics

Yes.  Yes, I did.  Considering my strong feelings on the subject, I would expect that to be evident.

I hope that that answers your question, and you won't respond further.  Because if you do, you probably should have started with something a little less inflammatory towards me.

I expect them to adhere to cause and effect, which EVERY series did.  Even Voyager didn't mess things up THAT badly.  (Why, oh why, did they make Voyager....)

This monstrosity simply through it out with the bathwater, as it were.

And that's only one issue.

Cause and Effect? In a universe that permits time travel? You have got to be kidding me.

Besides, have you seen Enterprise? Cos that basically ****s every last bit of time travel-related continuity....

Yeah sorry bro, no time travel in Star Trek ever obeyed a set of consistent rules.

Hell, Janeway even makes a tongue-in-cheek comment about it in one of Voyager's goofy time-screwing episodes.  "There's one thing I've learned when thinking about time travel: don't."

Re: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Yes.  Yes, I did.  Considering my strong feelings on the subject, I would expect that to be evident.

It isn't. Much the opposite, in fact. If you had watched Trek you would have realized that time travel on Trek has never been consistent across any particular series. We remember Voyager but are so eager to forget that it wasn't handled consistently on TNG, it wasn't handled consistently in DS9 because it was approached from the Prophet's perspective, the riots episodes, and the one used in the tribble episode, and ENT didn't manage it either.

So again, I ask, did you actually watch this franchise? Because in suggesting consistent methods of handling time travel, or the existence of a cause and effect basis, you are basically stating that you did not.
