What user made campaigns fit within the Blue Planet continuity?
I want to know what the Blue Planet team, or the community, think which use made campaigns fit in with Blue Planet canon?

Re: What user made campaigns fit within the Blue Planet continuity?
Vassago's Dirge is pretty much BP canon. You can forget Derelict: even though there's the odd reference here and there there clearly hasn't been a third Shivan incursion. Homesick, Transcend, etc. are very self-contained, so they could probably fit (although [CENSORED PENDING FREDAYEEN INVESTIGATION]). Procyon Insurgency's probably a no-go; someone would have mentioned massive insurrections and superdestroyers.

The good Christian should beware of mathematicians, and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of Hell.

Citation needed

Especially since Vassago's Dirge predates the release of War in Heaven by only a couple weeks, and it came well after Age of Aquarius.

You haven't looked at Universal Truth closely, I take it.

Spoiler:
According to the Debriefing if you fail after running away from the Vishnans (staying inside the Nebula until times up), there's also Transcend and Sync.

But where was Vassago's Dirge mentioned?

IDK, I just looked through the text block in the mission file because I'm too much of a coward to actually play that damn mission.

You'll have to be slightly more specific than that, you know.  Where in that mission is Vassago's Dirge canonized?  I'm honestly curious, seeing as how Vassago's Dirge came out over two years later.  Hell, it came out six months after the Director's Cut, even.

Please, show me how Vassago's Dirge is BP canon.  It may not disagree with BP canon, but that doesn't really mean anything.

I believe they were going by the similarities to one of the endings of Vassago's Dirge and the scenario put forward in the beginning of Act 3's Universal Truth.

Is there another mission named Universal Truth, then?  That'd be rather unlike the BP team, especially since the Universal Truth in AoA is a.... well, fairly significant is understating it a bit.

Yes, the last mission in act 3 (that isn't a cutscene) is called Universal Truth too. Because it makes sense.

Have you tried pressing escape and saying "Guys" a lot?

Huh.  In that case, I guess I'll have to concede the possibility that there's something in there until I can play it myself.

Just looked in the mission file myself about Vassago's Dirge:
Spoiler:
A Vassago Incident is mentioned in the stage with the 14th Battleground when you are inside the Toqueville-Node and connect to the subspace-whirl. The other nodes also contain interesting bits of information. Easy to miss, though.

So now we have:
Spoiler:
Vassago's Dirge
Transcend
Sync

Re: What user made campaigns fit within the Blue Planet continuity?
Well turns out Transcend is totally BP canon, ALL FURTHER DETAILS ARE IRRELEVANT CHECK YOUR ARMS AND LEGS

Scotty:
From Universal Truth WiH Act3.  Serious spoilers.
Spoiler:
How could we accept a leadership, no matter how benevolent, controlled by an alien power? With the information gathered from the Vassago incident...we had to strike. Morpheus was the only option.

Mine does - er... will, eventually... sort of...

Re: What user made campaigns fit within the Blue Planet continuity?
I don't get how Transcend really fits with all it's own weirdness involved, like the guy bending and warping reality causing Terran and Vasudan ships to disappear or duke it out. Would be funny to see the GTVA explain why most of the crews involved are missing.

Re: What user made campaigns fit within the Blue Planet continuity?
Spoiler:
One of the failure briefings implies it happened as the result of GTVI experimentation into the Sync drive which made the universe split in two and the Transcendant ultimately destroy one of them.

Oh, I guess I have to play Sync again after I finish Act 3. I think the campaigns that fall within Silent Threat: Reborn continuity can also be counted.

Re: What user made campaigns fit within the Blue Planet continuity?
Spoiler:
Aken Bosch is also Silent Threat's Alpha 1.
