RELEASE - 4 mission long Raptor campaign!
Hi all!

I finished the first four missions about the battlestar asheron,  :D
you play as a raptor pilot during the cylon attack, in the first two missions you fly a regular raptor, after that an armed one.
Could I get some feedback?

I didn't know how to get some of the directives in mission 2 and 4 working (the stay stealthy and wait for the asheron directives). Could someone explain how to do those?

You probably want to make a campaign file for this. I'm going to look at the missions and see if I can figure out how to answer those questions.

As for how to play, extract the missions to your Data\Missions folder and they should work. You'll need to go to the tech room to run them though.

I've seen this campaign develop and I gotta say, I really like how it turned out! If you want a break from regular raider/basestar shooting than you should definitely try this one. Defend civvies, use your FTL, play hide and seek with raider squadrons, and get a couple of surprises... highly recommended.

So I finally got around to playing this one, and it was definitely pretty fun!  I'm not sure if you're still looking for feedback, but I thought I'd provide it anyway:

Three things in general; only having stars in the background is kind of "meh", the weapon loadouts available feel a little overpowered (I grabbed 4xAGM's), and the escort lists should be used for every mission.  Packing this like Karajorma said would also be good!  :p
M1
-Make the raiders stealthed until the vipers identify them.
Nit-picks on the Debriefing: { "Luckily, the raptor's computer...", "Because of your intervention during the Cylon attack, we...", "but As you know..." }
M2
-Change launch key to backslash, just to be the same as the R1 campaign.
-A typo in the message "Stay inside debris field"
-The viper pilot "Landing Directive Trigger" is targetable
Nit-picks on the Debriefing: { "All right pilots," there are infinity symbols after "...Asheron wasn't attacked as well." }
M3
-I keep receiving "Engine failure. Cannot engage FTL." even when the raptor jumps.
-Can't find the second raptor.
-"Alpha 1, Star...  We have been sent..."
-Claims both ships were destroyed, when both survived (but disabled) according to the event log.
M4
-After Asheron jumps, you get the message "Here Arenea Carrier,..."
-AGM's make the kamikaze event trivial, though I didn't expect the passenger liner to be destroyed by it.

Hey thanks for the feedback, I always like it :).

I thought I made pretty elaborate backgrounds (with the nebula etc), do you really only see stars?
I knew some of the points already, but didn't know how to change them.
For M1. I tried making the raiders stealth, but it really didn't work out.
M2. same problem and I was having the idea I had no idea how to do directives properly, it was a lot of trial and error.
M3. I thought I covered almost every possibility  :eek2:, so much can happen lol. But when the 2 ships are disabled and don't jump, they get destroyed by the new cylon wing right?
Maybe there should be more  :P.
M4. I wanted to make the destruction of the carrier a choice, like it was in episode ''33'' :).

I honestly don't remember seeing the nebulae in some missions :/  More bitmap objects would make it more interesting, since those just felt "empty" to me.  If stealth prevents the raider attack from working properly, I'd guess that using the coordinate manipulation sexps to force them to maneuver themselves into a certain range, and then you could un-stealth them before continuing the mission at the oh-poop-it's-the-cylons part.  Directives can get messy but I usually have the event with the directive text chained after a dummy event that triggers when I want that directive to appear, and if the directive itself gets too complicated then I'll define a variable for it to use which I update through an additional event.  When I did M3 I squashed all of the Raider wings before they were able to kill those ships, so they just sat there not doing anything... It was awkward. :blah:  Another wave of Raiders wouldn't be too bad, but I'd still let them jump since I think the FTL is separate from the thrusters.  I definitely caught that reference in M4 when I played it, but I knew I'd have taken out the carrier from the first time I saw that episode, so it wasn't much of a choice for me :drevil:

I don't know what else is giving you trouble, but I know that packing as a mod took some time for me to figure out, so here's what I'd do for yours: make some folders and arrange your files something like this...
(\Asheron\{mod.ini, LogoLarge.png, LogoSmall.png}) and (\Asheron\data\missions\{Asheron.fc2, AsheronM1.fs2, AsheronM2.fs2, AsheronM3.fs2, AsheronM4.fs2})
The *.fc2 is made through the campaign editor in FRED, but I'm not familiar with doing it (it's not strictly necessary, but it won't be treated as a campaign without it).  The mod.ini should look something like this:

From the main screen choose Tech Data -> Mission Simulator. I keep forgetting that Tech Room is the name in FS2, not Diaspora. :p
