I had an idea for a campaign kind of to FS2 wot Silent threat was to FS1. It wouldn't need any major changes, just the odd new ship and weapons.

Here's a preliminary story line:
a year after the destruction of Cappela the Vasudans have settled in (as yet undecided system). There empire grew strong but after 18 months the emperor died. In his place came his son, a fascist who also sympathised with the HOL. He original made great promises to the Vasudans, expanded their fleet and economy, made them believe anything he said was right. Then after 6 months declaired an armistace between the PV and the HOL. This caused great strain on the GTVA and 3 months later the emperor removes the PV from the GTVA. The very next day the GTA looses contact with it's outpost nearest the new Vasudan home world. You are one of the first pilots in on recon and are met by a huge Vasudan armarda.

Thats it so far. Sound good? I wasn't sure if the Vasudans hav an emperor or a parliament as in the PV but i think in the FS bible it mentions a meeting between someone and the vasudan emperor but if not the story can be adapted.

I would appreciate any help possible for the campaign as i'm mainly an ideas man and web design. I can rendering and a limited amount of freding and weapons but need definate help for models.

Let me know in this thread.

Vasudans have an Emperor and an Imperium which I suppose is a bit like a parliament but probably more like Royal Court or something.  The Parliamentary Vasudan Empire was corrupt and overturned between FreeSpace and FreeSpace 2 with Emperor Khonsu taking power.

Right, but if Khonsu II dies and his son decides to change things, nothing can stop him because the Emperor has ultimate power in Vasudan government.

This is a great idea (mostly because I've been thinking about making this type of campaign for a while :D ).  If you need any help with mission creation, I could help you.  I'd love to take on the Vasudans again, like Alternate Paths but without a bunch of new ships, because they won't be needed.

Where are all these HOL peeps hanging about?

Also your characterisations are very human, remmber the Vasudans are an alien society with completely different culture sets and psyches.

The FS2 tech database says many of the old HOL leaders are still unaccounted for, so they could come back to revive the organization with Khonsu III's help.

Eh? Read the tech data bace agian dude, the Vasudans abollished the Khonsu Dinasty, and well Khonsu himself did it.

not too say that the plot is bad but if you truely whant it to be like the FS1 addon then take into account all the things that have happend in the two Games.

please, not that again. That has been soooo done already. About three campaigns (Third Twilight to name one) have KII dying, evil heir breaking up from GTVA line.

No, Khonsu dissolved the Parliament in 2339, not the dynasty.

No thats not what he did I'll show you here:

The heir of a 10,000 year dynasty, "Khonsu distinguished himself as a leader of unusual acumen and wisdom." Economists credit the "Khonsu regime" for the miraculous rehabilitation of Vasudan industry and society.

Take note that it said "Khonsu Regime" Not Dynasty.

You must have missed the prior sentences in that intel brief:
Quote
Despite the annihilation of all life in their home system, the success of the Vasudan reconstruction surpassed that of their Terran allies. The Vasudans were governed by a Parliament until 2339, when the Vasudan Emperor, Khonsu II, dissolved this body and formed a new government, bringing an end to an institution notorious for its Byzantine treachery, corruption, and arrogance.
Presumably FS2 is set during the Khonsu II regime.  In any event, there is no indication one way or another if the dynasty died out after Khonsu II.

'Regime' means the Khonsu government (regime sounds better for a single person monarchy or dictatorship).

Incidentally, IIRC, the tech DB states that Vasudans take an honorific title from Egyptian mythology... i.e. Khonus is God of the Moon, so maybe Nekhbet (Goddess of the power of kings) or Geb (God of the Earth)....or soforth would be a better name?

Here's an idea:

The Vasudan emperor Khonsu II dies and his son takes control.  His son [undecided name] is corrupt and thus puts tension on the GTVA.  Several months have passed and the tension is unbearable within the GTVA and the Vasudan Imperium.  This leads to the birth of the Imperialists and the Republicans.  The GTVA is still loyal to the Vasudan Imperialists and the Vasudan Republicans reforms the Vasudan Parliament (PVN) and breaks with the GTVA.  The GTVA realizes that the Imperialists are corrupt but can't really do anything about it.  Then the Republicans began to raid GTVA convoys and the action starts about... now.
