Did not know where to post help stuff.

I am having a lot of trouble with FSO lately.
I got on and went to play some Derelict, and for some strange reason the mediavps were not working with the 3.6.14 build.
I don't know what is going on.
It recognizes the mediavps (3.6.12 build) but it does not look like usual mediavps, just like regular freespace.
I would like a fix.
I came, I saw, I ate some salad.

The Derelict mod.ini points to mediavps, not mediavps_3612. You could edit the mod.ini to point at mediavps_3612.

How do i post a log...
And changing the mod.ini did not change a thing.
Even when I have just regular MediaVPs3_6_12 chosen for the mod it does the same thing.

Please follow these instructions.

EDIT: To post the log once you have it, click on "Attachments and other options", which appears just below the text area where you write your post. Then click on Browse... and find the log. The log won't actually be uploaded until you click on "Post".

Okay here is the log.

As i said, it doesn't even work with the MediaVPs_3612 folder selected for the mod.
Here is the log for that.

Code: [Select]
Initializing OpenGL graphics device at 640x480 with 16-bit color...
  Initializing WGL...
  Requested WGL Video values = R: 5, G: 6, B: 5, depth: 16, double-buffer: 1
  Actual WGL Video values    = R: 8, G: 8, B: 8, depth: 32, double-buffer: 1
OpenGL Vendor    : ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL Renderer  : ATI Radeon HD 4200
OpenGL Version   : 3.3.9836 Compatibility Profile Context

You are using 640x480 resolution and 16-bit color depth.

Go to the launcher's video tab and change the resolution from 640 x 480 to your monitor's resolution, which is probably the biggest resolution in the list, most likely the last option in the list.

Also change the color depth to 32-bit.

That seals it, thanks for the help.
Where would i post this kind of stuff in the future?

Glad it's fixed.

The support forum is the best place to ask for help, unless your issue is with a specific mod, such as Blue Planet, in which case you should post in the mod's forum if it has one.

Okay thanks, the support here is very good.

Okay thanks, the support here is very good.

That makes it sound like HLP is a support forum for a well known software company :P
