You know what? I like my N64. I don't care that it has grossly inferior specs, as compared to modern hardware. I don't care that it had somewhat inferior specs, as compared to many of its contemporary competitors. I don't care that the controller requires three hands to fully utilize, where its competitors and modern systems were designed by people with two hands, for people with two hands. When I was twelve, the N64 was the exclusive platform of the games that I wanted to play, and when I want to nostalgically replay some of those games, I'm quite happy to still have the original hardware available for that purpose.
I also like Windows 98 as a gaming platform. I don't care that it had a lot of problems with a lot of hardware, particularly in its early days. I don't care that it was already becoming bloated, as compared to many contemporary, competing operating systems. I don't care that it wasn't designed specifically for the purpose of gaming. When I was fifteen, the games I wanted to play were principally designed for PCs running Windows 98, and I'm kind of kicking myself for not keeping a legacy box from the era to properly run games that don't cooperate with newer versions of Windows, newer hardware, and/or newer drivers.
If you say that you like one gaming platform over another because of its spec sheet or what will ultimately prove to be minute differences in graphical fidelity, and it's not because your paycheck demands that you develop on these platforms, then you're a liar. You have become emotionally invested in the success or failure of one gaming platform or another, and you will desperately grab at whatever straw you can use as a rationalization for your fanboyism. It's quite obnoxious and a little disgusting.
I like my gaming PC. The games I want to play are typically released for the PC. If you feel that the PS4 library will be better targetted to your desires as a gamer, then get a PS4. If you feel that your game-related desires will be better fulfilled by the PC, during the next console generation, then stick with the PC. Whichever choice you make, though, try not to be a ****ing douchebag about it.
