I wanna start 3D moddeling, so i can make new ships for freespace.

• What program should i use?  Preferably a free one i can download.
• Is there a tutorial anywhere for the program
• (breifly) how does it work and what should i look out for.

Any answers? I'd like to know.

Blender and TrueSpace, i reccomment TS4, but it's not free

I suppose, you could give Rhino 3D a shot. Sandwich swears by it, and he wrote a tutorial for it too.

And, as much as I like Blender, NaN (the company who "created" Blender) went out of business.  However, it's becoming increasingly difficult to find, though I got a friend to upload it to his website for me. Soon as he puts his apps back up, I'll post the link.
