Unclear if this is related to the killing of an MIT campus officer a couple hours ago.

Suspects have a stolen police vehicle, explosives, hand grenades, automatic weapons. Some people saying they may be the Marathon bombers. Full SWAT rollout and a huge police response, at least two officers down

They're telling cops to shut off their cell phones for fear of triggering explosives, this is really awful. Perimeter going up and EOD called in. A guy I know who was close friends with one of the kids killed in the Marathon bombing lives inside the perimeter

They have 'arrested' the second suspect a few times but it's turned out not to be him each time so far. Still hunting last I knew

I think at this point they're just arresting everyone on the streets. It gets them out of the way if they're innocent and they can sort it all out later.

Just heard something on that scanner like "the person outstanding is the suspect with a white hat in the photo."  If they mean that photo, then this might really be it.

Yeah I think they're pretty certain the remaining suspect is one of the two Marathon bombers (e: may be wrong about names). The other may be DOA at hospital.

They just bagged the other guy.  It's over except for the cleanup and the parenthetically  long and expensive trial for someone who deserves to just be shot in the head.

From what they've been able to dig up about their backgrounds, I can't help but wonder if the older brother was the one who wound up initially dragging the younger into all of this.  The latter seemed to be pretty well-adjusted and had plenty of friends over here...not that that's ever a guarantee against going crazy of course.
