Am I the only one who feels that MBlue actually do more damage than the BBlue? I've had a bunch of cap ships with many BBlues unload on a Juggernaut before, and then a Bunch of MBlues, and I really feel like the MBlues do more damage. Am I correct in this? It could very well be because MBlues can be mounted in greater number. I was just curious if I was the only one to notice this.

The BBlue has almost twice the sustained damage of the MBlue.

The difference in firepower between MBlues and BBlues is the difference in firepower between a Chimera and a Titan. MBlues will supply more of a battlegroup's damage simply because there are more of them but one for one the BBlue thrashes them.

Are you sure you aren't talking about HBlues and BBlues? Because then you have the issue of the Raynor only having one beam versus the Titan's three, so the Titan comes out on top. But then that could very well be just another case of the tables not reflecting the canon, since we've only ever seen the Raynor use it in battles where it's outclassed to begin with thus far.

Was the HBlue always intended to be only slightly more powerful then the BBlue? It has an additional 1500 meter range granted, but only a bit more sustained dmg.

Its almost a direct copy paste from the inferno HBlue, so yes I would say so.

Just going by the description of having its own reactor etc, I expected it to pack more punch over say, a Titan, which can pack 3 BBlues and is described as being more of a carrier.

The Titan doesn't have anywhere near as potent a broadside.

agreed, the Raynor has a host of other beam cannons at its disposal

Yeah fair enough. Guess we haven't really seen a Raynor's full capabilities in WiH

It's own reactor probably means that the Raynor is left with more excess energy to put into other things, like crazy subspace manouvering.

The Titan is just better when it comes to shock jump while it is possible to immediately getting into position to fire at the enemy. The Raynor gets more DPS if it gets into the thickness of the action however, like if there are multiple enemies it can engage at the same time. We haven't seen much of the Raynor's broadside firepower. Seeing the tables, the Titan only have a single TerSlashBlue covering each sides.

We don't know if this will continue to hold up though - it could be that the Raynor will be just as effective (or more) as a shock-jumper.

Yeah. Based on its tabled armament alone the Raynor Erebus is a ship with a lot of very diverse armament which can be used in interesting ways. Commanding one in a mission would potentially be very fun, if you did it right.

So the Raynor got name changed absorbed by the Darkness?
Quote
Ancient Greek: Ἔρεβος, "deep darkness, shadow", was often conceived as a primordial deity, representing the personification of darkness
The buntus are ****ed

On a serious note, why the name change? Not enough greekness to the GTVA? :p

Someone thought they needed something that sounds silly. Eretrain and Ereplane were taken.

Ignore Matth, this is just his usual flailing when it turns out not everyone agrees with him. The name Raynor was, to my knowledge, basically a working stand-in that Stratcomm didn't bother changing, and which has stuck around until you reach the present situation where one of the most prominent ships in BP is inexplicably named after a Starcraft character, contrary to everything else in the fleet.

Arguably this is the exact correct answer.

The only reason I'd be worried about a real name change is how it would effect voice acting -  how many times was "Raynor" ever said in game? Have they gotten close to finishing AOA yet?
