Interstellar Marines
Saw this pop up on Steam, and took a look.  I expected a pretty generic spess mahreen FPS, but was immediately struck by how much what looks like a small indie developer is committed to doing.  I don't know if I'm going to get it and the early access that comes with it, but it's tempting.

Though, being honest, if I did get it, it'd be for the prospect of fighting dog-sharks in a dimly lit spaceship corridor.

Re: Interstellar Marines
I did grab it. While it is still in demo and there's not much to do, I'm really looking forward to the final product when it is released.

Heard about this before....15$ is not bad considering all you get.

The game looks very detailed and purdy.
I can't fanthom why the Kickstarter failed.

From what I've heard, yes; it's apparently supposed to be heavily story-driven, too. I'm on vacation right now, though (with a craptop), so I can't check out this Early Access yet...

<MageKing17> "There's probably a reason the code is the way it is" is a very dangerous line of thought. :P
<MageKing17> Because the "reason" often turns out to be "nobody noticed it was wrong".
(the very next day)
<MageKing17> this ****ing code did it to me again
<MageKing17> "That doesn't really make sense to me, but I'll assume it was being done for a reason."

<MageKing17> ESPECIALLY ME

<MageKing17> God damn, I do not understand how this is breaking.
<MageKing17> Everything points to "this should work fine", and yet it's clearly not working.
<MjnMixael> 2 hours later... "God damn, how did this ever work at all?!"
(...)
<MageKing17> so
<MageKing17> more than two hours
<MageKing17> but once again we have reached the inevitable conclusion
<MageKing17> How did this code ever work in the first place!?

<@The_E> Welcome to OpenGL, where standards compliance is optional, and error reporting inconsistent

<MageKing17> It was all working perfectly until I actually tried it on an actual mission.

<IronWorks> I am useful for FSO stuff again. This is a red-letter day!

<MageKing17> TIL the entire homing code is held up by shoestrings and duct tape, basically.

Quote from: Steam Page
Interstellar Marines is inspired by Half-Life, System Shock 2 and Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield.

As soon as I read this line I forked out. All three of the inspirations happen to be in my top ten games.

Re: Interstellar Marines
This game has been on dev limbo for years. That's why I never posted about it, even though I have been watching it for over 2 years.
