Hello.

I've noticed that in one of the missions, the FPS goes down from 60 to 39.
In this mission ( from Star Wars Mod ), there are 3 Imperial Star Destroyers and many, many fighters on the scene.

In other missions there are also many big Ships and the FPS works stable, so i think the problem doesn´t comes from
the big ships and may be comes from the number of small fighters...
I know many of the work is for the Graphics Display, but may be the calculation of the position of many fighters at the same
time goes to the CPU or Memory, so may be is the reason that the graphics quality doesn´t affect gameplay in this case.

I was trying choosing a lower resolution and less graphics details, also deactivating some of the features but still the same more or less.

The computer looks enough for the game, but now i´m not really sure what i need to improve the FPS, buying another video card using the SLI method, or may be a faster CPU, ok, or a new PC...  ;)

The PC is a IntelCore 2 Quad 2.4Ghz , 3GB of RAM DDR2 400Mhz, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX660Ti with 3GB Ram

Only i want to play with 60 FPS stable if is possible, thanks.

Here the full specs....

Without knowing anything about the models involved, it's impossible to tell. There are a few places where slowdowns would be expected to occur due to badly optimized models.

The question here is, can you narrow it down to any specific model that causes slowdowns? Can you provide an fs2_open.log showing what's going on in the engine?

Yes for sure...

I´m preparing the mission to upload it and the log as well.

You mean that sometimes the FPS can not be improved in any way?, i mean if the problem comes from the optimization,
the engine itself can´t work faster even with a better pc...

Thanks

It would be my guess based on the limited information available. A badly optimized model (that is, one that uses lots of textures, or large numbers of small subobjects) will have a great impact on performance. But then, it could also be a case of lots of effects firing at once, lots of objects being around, that sort of thing.

Here the fs2_open.log, attached because is big.

I´ve noticed the FPS goes really down when i switch to debug mode, starting the mission with 20 FPS, i think is normal debugging.
Normally it run on 60 FPS and in the worst case on 30 FPS or less.
