Seemingly Unresolvable Problem with Blueplanet
Here's my data log for what occurs when I attempt to go into the first mission briefing:

Could not load in 2_CommandBrief-mb!
KERNELBASE.dll! WaitForSingleObjectEx + 41 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObjectEx + 67 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObject + 18 bytes
fs2_open_3_6_18_NO-SSE.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_6_18_NO-SSE.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_6_18_NO-SSE.exe! <no symbol>

Now I have Free 3.6.18.9546 Inferno Launcher and MediaVPS 3.6.12 installed. I know I have all of the required packages such as MVRoot and the override file and the same goes with the core and extra files. I have all of the folders in their correct places. No spaces in any of the file names or folder names.

I have all of the required files for Blueplanet as well and I started a new pilot for this campaign. My settings are on 32-bit and 1600x900 resolution.

I had a similar problem with FSPort, where when I installed MVRoot it resolved the error you see above. I've attached screenshots so you can check if I missed anything.

I'm not sure what's wrong when I'm sure I have everything installed correctly and all the required files.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Seemingly Unresolvable Problem with Blueplanet
Please post your fs2_open.log file.  Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

Since you seem to be on Win7 and your install is in "program files" the log is not in the usual place, pay particular notice to the instructions for finding the log in Windows Vista/7/8.

Re: Seemingly Unresolvable Problem with Blueplanet
Now I have Free 3.6.18.9546 Inferno Launcher and MediaVPS 3.6.12 installed.

BP requires special BP builds. Get one from here.

If your computer does not support deffered lightning(i.e. above build does not work for you), then try the compatibility package.

However the error........ Its not related to builds or something.  :sigh:

I guess we'll have to wait for your debug log.

Re: Seemingly Unresolvable Problem with Blueplanet
I cant even use the debug version apparently.

This error appeared when I chose a profile:

Assert: bm_bitmaps[bitmapnum].handle == handle
File: bmpman.cpp
Line: 1175
Invalid bitmap handle -1 passed to bm_get_type().
This might be due to an invalid animation somewhere else.

You have to follow this step, BP needs special BP builds.

Once again, here is the FS2 Log. Similar errors occur for the standard BP Build.

No stray files in root FS2 folder. Plz get this out of there before my eyes melt.

Is a warning, not an error. Can be safely ignored from a player point of view.

Checksums are wrong, meaning your BP install is out of date. Please follow the instructions of the release thread.

Once correctly reinstalled, you can doublecheck your checksums with those listed in the release thread for integrity.

Re: Seemingly Unresolvable Problem with Blueplanet
I took literally everything related to Blue Planet out and reinstalled it all again. It now works. Weapons slow down the framerate considerably but that's another topic.
