Is there a Star Trek mod for Freespace 2 that is still being worked on or is released? I have searched online and the forums without any luck.

What would a Trek mod be about? I mean you got big ships and shuttles and... that's it really. (The Peregrine is really an oversized gun pod)

Unless you made something like Star Trek Invasion (this had fighters.)

But even then, what would the Story be about? Each mission probably needs an Aesop of the day...

And we don't even have Trek ship models. No, the hunchback of Deep Space 9 defiant does not count! :P

True, but if you used turrets correctly, you could theoretically have starships as player ships. Civilian ships & stations could be the capital ships and a sub class of player controllable ships could be the shuttles/fighters.

Partially, you're right. There isn't any actively developed Trek mod. However, Omniscapper released a huge pack of Trek ships and weapons. They should be available somewhere, and I still have them, but the models are quirky and quite old. It's possible to make a proper mod out of it, but it'd need a really dedicated modder with some modeling/texturing skills.

The Maquis Raider is also fighter/bomber-like.

It's always surprised me that there's never been any sort of coherent Trek mod release despite the various attempts.  I mean, you think of "beam cannons" in pop sci-fi, and there's only one thing that comes to mind as the originator.

I think it's because Star Trek is not something that lets itself to "war games" easily.

I mean Trek is about exploring and America Earth, **** Yeah and moralizing how superior humans are to half race bastards and...

Holy ****, a trek mod is a great idea! We can make a play at how racist the writers were...

I love that smiley with every fiber of my being.

(but srsly I think most classic anime series featuring beams and such post-dated TOS by a good decade or so)

You desperately need to watch DS9.

Helm the Defiant for one of big battles of the Dominion War? Yes.

I did. :P

But even it had problems. Hell, DS9 showed how in WoK, Spock basically delivered a massive uber-*****slap to every single Star Trek admiral when it comes to fighting a battle in space.

And DS9 had a massive case of BoE battles. That is a bad thing...

BoE is not a bad thing in itself. If you have forgotten this, the problem is on your end.

Also, the third dimension is overrated when everyone can think in 3D. It was specifically because Khan did not, and because it was not an open-space battlefield, that it works.

Yes, DS9 was notoriously shoddy in that it didn't give the players enough agency over their situation in favour of creating spectacle.

(Hint: BoE syndrome, as we define it, is about thrusting the player into a big spectacle with no real work to do. It's not actually about how big battles are bad, but about how big battles that do not give you the opportunity to do important things in them are exciting to watch, but boring to play)

Quite ironic, considering that the actual BoE, as portrayed in XW:A, very much gave you the opportunity to do a lot of meaningful things, culminating in blowing up the Death Star. :)

You can grab ships here:

And since Star Trek doesn't have fighter, you could make something like this :) or not.

That's nice. Could you also upload the update VP? It had a Dominion Battleship, Bajor and some other, minor stuff.
Also, it's not like ST doesn't have fighters. Both Peregrine and Maquis Raider are included in this mod, along with DS9 runabout and quite a few armed shuttles. Though a proper ST mod would probably be Capship Command based.

Update VP ? I don't have any other Star Trek ships that are not in freespacemods. There are all in the link I gave earlier. I think the description is not complete.
