Time to break out the Binoculars (New Supernova)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-25860454

Supernova spotted in Messier 82. Should be visible with Binoculars in the Northern hemisphere and may get brighter.

I'm hoping for a clear night tonight.

Bloody clouds, snow and exams around here. If the sky clears, I'll try arranging a meeting with my friend who owns a decent telescope. It'd be really great to see this.

It's in the single digits Fahrenheit (negative teens Celsius maybe, I'm too lazy to math), so I think I'll wait on the pretty pictures.
