Basically, they're non-partisan, mostly political independents, socially liberal/progressive, fiscally conservative, don't trust the government to do things efficiently, but don't actually trust unbridled free-market capitalism either.

In other words.... Canadian.

its like they all need to get together and vote for the independent, whoever they may be. yet they are too caught up in rhetoric of both parties to even consider that an option. independent candidates exist for the sole purpose of giving both parties the middle finger, so it doesn't matter what the independent candidate actually stands for. they will never win, but if they get say 20-30% of the votes, it sends a solid message to both parties to get their heads out of their asses.

But that would require not voting for the party that could win that would also piss you off least.  A vote for an independent is a vote that isn't cast against your particular hated party's enemies.

im more interested in closing the gap between the parties than vote for candidates i like or against those i dont like. i know that no matter who gets elected you are still going to have power split amongst extremes, which results in nothing getting done. the only way to fix that is to change the parties, and the only way as a voter i can think of to accomplish that is to not vote for party canidates and voice my disgust.
