Man, the skill of the 2D art is really high.
I just feel that your alien designs are kind of uninspired... Like, so far all of them have been 'animals in space'.
Well we're going with a classic scifi vibe, so species that are Gorn and Kzin like are pretty high on the list. We also have some really weird races like the Arcturans and Rigelans. Minor races will also be a bit more experimental.
As for the space elves, the Yalkai are actually giant starfish like critters and fry your brain into thinking they're pretty.

Also Trashman on the Humans we wanted them to not look too "oomphy" as the Humans are supposed to be the sweet, sugary, Federation style diplomats. But the really big stuff Titans and Doomstars we haven't shown yet.
