Our absolute latest hot off the presses ship is the Selach Titan!

I mean no offense of any kind, but this ship looks tiny! I was blown away by it supposedly being 12 kilometers long because it looks like a really small ship - maybe a few hundred meters long at maximum.

In game there's detail maps, plus in the case of the Selach we're dealing with whale sized crew members so their large ships are more like another species mediums.

That's great, however unfortunately neither of those things modify the ship's shape in any way (especially the second thing, which means nothing to a player anyway?), which is what makes it look small.

I think if you swept the wings back a bit it would make it look larger and make the design flow better.

Seems like every 4X coming out is getting a Von Neuman Probe. Looks cool though, I love the design.

Overall I think newman's art direction has been pretty amazing so I hope that enough people play the game to see it

As for the VN, we're probably nerfing it to kingdom come. Currently when it shows up the entire galaxy is consumed in about 40 turns. We want these to be galaxy wide threats and not pushovers but that's a little overkill!

did he settle on the tetrahedron shape for the probe alone? or did he collaborate with the star of the hit 2004 comedy dodgeball, thus devising the vaughn-newman probe?

After True Detective Season 2 Vaughn's acting is the true grand menace to the LoR galaxy!

Well Scourge that's actually why it took a while before releasing this since it came down to "Well if we do a 10m scale you can't see some of the ships, and a 100m scale makes them look kinda small, and other scales would be weird."

We'll probably do a few 100m scale images of some of the supercaps, citadels, and grand menaces a little down the road though. Since the Citadels are pretty, insanely, huge. ...and pretty much meant for fortifying core worlds.
