The bigger monitor is 1920x1080.  The game extends to the smaller monitor and I can't seem to fix it no matter which resolution I tried.  Anyone know of a fix?  Running windows 8.1

Hmmm. What are your two monitors native resolutions? Which resolutions have you tried for FSO? As a guess, you might be able to fix this with setting the larger monitors resolution for FSO, then enabling the "Fullscreen Window" option in the launcher.

If that doesn't work, please post your fs2_open.log file.  Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

Strange, for me, overflow like that only happens when I run the game in a higher resolution than my monitor is set to. Running in fullscreen window

If all else fails you can run it windowed (not even fullscreen windowed), at the appropriate resolution (or any smaller resolution). Yeah there'll be a border but w/e.
I think this may have been one of the reasons why I decided to stick to 1600x900 windowed despite having a 1920x1080 monitor...

If you don´t find a solution, you can always try with Softth, i was using it sometime ago, when I didn´t know the flag options.
Now i´m using 2 monitors  of 1920x1200 each, and the -res option inside FSO launcher works really well.

Anyway, here you have the link.
