First is the most menacing one, so i'd go with that one..the eyes, wouldnt red be better than orange? or is it just me...(maybe my monitor is screwed up too and they already are red, i dunno).  Good job venom, very very impressive indeed.

On another matter. Does anyone here notice the similarity between Shivans and that weird species from startrek?  The one in the voyager series?

Wow ;) Just a little stockier and you got it.

I'd make the eyes blood red though, the orange just doesn't look quite as menacing.

The second lighting test I think looks the best, the grating lighting on the pipes on the top of the corridor I'd make a lot smaller and I'd add grit on the pipes plus some lights.

The second one's lighting is a lot closer to the FreeSpace cutscenes in style, IMHO.

Apparently most people haven't seen this... I found this Shivan model on my hard drive and had no idea where it came from.

You sure know how to judge people who have 7 glowy lights instead of eyes.

*has a thought*

Y'know. That might not be a Shivan. Seen as their ship was being invaded, they could sent their automated security thingies to go annihilate the Terrans. Wouldn't surprise me if the FS story arc was originally intended to end in a Wizard of Oz type situation.

Anyway.............

That can't be right because Volition went on record saying that the things we saw in the Hall Fight cutscene in FS1 were Shivans. People thought, way back when FS1 came out, that they were automated robots and not real Shivans, but [V] said they were Shivans. It's official canon.
