I dont have the space to post a zip Im afraid. I used a rar because its smaller. I could e-mail it to you if a meg is not too much. You should consider getting winrar, its actually a lot nicer than winzip and on the last check it does a lot more.

Looks like my fix is OK, though I could do with someone testing on a matrox card. I might not check it in yet because some major things seem to be happening to fs2_open.

The change (which has been posted in the code formum) is very small and simple can be implemented and anyone can always get a copy of the exe of me.

But people please remember: IF YOU TEST IT TELL ME THE RESULT AND WHAT GRAPHICS CARD AND OS YOU HAVE. Otherwise theres not much point.

This I would really like to see, since I have been getting a bit annoyed with the blurry text and screen glitches lately. (I can fix it by doing a registry hack, but then I cannot use AA) The rar file appears to be unreadable though, according to Winrar.

Totally sucks doesnt it. Also you can play FS1 through FS2 exe and avoid it there as well.

What on earth did you change in the registry to fix it?
And whats AA?
Also what graphics card do you have?

Just downloaded it. Opens fine for me. Try getting the latest version of winrar. Or I'll e-mail you it if you want. Or compile it yourself with the code that I have posted.

Here is a post I made some months ago about this problem:

There are two ways two work around this problem:

1: Turn on antialiasing - side effect is the funny black lines crossing through the screen

2: Go into the following directory in Regedit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Volition/Freespace2

Add in a DWORD value in here called D3DTextureOrigin and set its value to 1. Things should now look just like they did with your old graphics card. The deficiency here is the lack of antialiasing, which makes the game look far better in my opinion. Also, be sure not to use both methods at the same time, since that messes up the text once again. Hope that helps.

AA is anti-aliasing. ;) I usually use 2x, but "quincunx" also works well. I have a standard (non-Ti) 64MB Geforce3 running at 250/575mhz (25% o'c). Could you email this exe to me at [email protected]? (I would compile it myself but I know very little about c++ and will probably end up doing it wrong :p)

I'll give it a go on my GeForce 4 and let you know what happens :)
