Microsoft adds peer distribution support to updates? (see img) Thoughts?
Playing around with Windows update settings and found this (Windows 10 build 10049):

As long as they:

A) Leave the option to only grab from machines on the local network
B) Default to that option
C) Have a robust hash checking algorithm to prevent poisoned seeds ruining any updates

Then I have relatively few issues with it. The biggest one is bandwidth limited users and what would happen if the option to seed the wider internet couldn't be disabled, as that would suck up bandwidth like crazy.

I previously ranted about the stupidity of having to download the same installer file on multiple PCs. So as long as this is done correctly, I think this is a great idea.
Karajorma's Freespace FAQ. It's almost like asking me yourself.

Not quite. In a corporate environment this could be done with WSUS for quite a while.
