Its just a less impressive rip-off of my atmosphere and you know it !
Come on be brave enough and admit its hardly awe inspiring !
This isnt a flaming, but i not going to say its brilliant, when it isnt, whats the point in that?
Joey - decide on your space colour then add some smoothing between planet and atmosphere.
This give the appearance of a atmosphere edge and can be used to remove the corners of the polygon you drew on.
Use MORE THAN ONE texture, otherwise it looks pants - you have to cut and paster like a jigsaw, hard, but worth it...if you cant be bothered at least use 4
(i used 40 on mine)
Before you cut up the picture - BUMP it which a shperical deformation. Gives a better 3D effect cos it is a 2d picture.
The reason i left clouds off it because if i find a way to add them via a nebula atmosphere later the static clouds on the picture would look silly. Still do in my opinion.
And if you want a colour for space
then only use 2 nebula files
blank colour (of your choice) suze 18,18 at 0,0,0
and
18,18 @ 180,0,0
this covers the whole sky. Now do it again.
Your ability to produce good maps for the plant and at the edge atmosphere is as good as your ability with the package you use. I used PSP7 to do mine and this can do it for sure. But it is tricky and takes some trial and trial to get it right.

Good luck with v3
