ok, we all know that anis can't be used for weapons, BG, etc, but only for thruster flames. now that we have the source code, maybe someone could find out ( no, not how to use them for that, but, first thing first: ) WHY we can't do that?

In all seriousness, how hard would it be to code the code that would allow for use of anis as textures and backgrounds?

I'm no coder. I but I think it would take some coding. Speaking of different types of files, has anybody thought about making fs2 recognize mp3's. They can sound much better than .wavs

 
the linux port has openAL which can play mp3s... should take a few secs to add mp3 support.
