A.)  Because of filesize
B.)  Because if he's running 800x600, then the window will take up the whole screen automatically, which i don't want it to do.  There will be a 'fullscreen' option, but only when he clicks it... It would suck to have Flash Player take up the whole screen!

That is cutting it a bit short... if we want him to get it on the DAY of his birthday, then we'll all have to be done by September 1st (have all applications in) because it'll take one day for me to make the slide show/zip everything/burn the CD, but then it's got to be shipped, unless Black Wolf or someone else in Australia can do it, then we have till September 10th.  i don't even know if we should wait till his birthday... what do you think?

in the meantime everyone please try to get your pictures sent as soon as possible

i admit this would be the best time... when did he leave HLP?  If we could get it closer to THAT date it would not only be more appropriate, but hopefully easier to accomplish.  I mean, if it's in March then screw it, but if it's December or January then that'd be better

i looked it up. he left in April.

well, how bout a christmas pressie, then? that gives you stacks more time, doesn't it?... um, 30+31+30+25+today is the ... nineteenth i think, so 12 - however many days from end of school to christmas day unless i go to his house and make a hand delivery = about 128 days? take away ten or twenty for delivery.

Does it actually have to be at an appropriate time? I mean, it'd be nice to give him a birthday/christmas/going away anniversary pressie, but it doesn't actually _matter_ if he just gets it, does it?

Personally I prefer the birthday idea, but if that's pushing it too much, then screw it.

just to recap, what are the 'special' dates to him?

Birthday:  September
Christmas:  December
Anniversary:  March

but I don't think he counts that as 'important' in the same way as the other things are important... actually, i think he once told me he didn't count birthdays or christmases too important either, at least in the presents aspect...

i may seem like 20 more cards can't be done in that amount of time, but remember, each of them is done by one person. if each person were to sit down and do theirs right now, we'd be done.

that's true Carl, but unfortunately when it comes to a community effort, the community seems to dissolve away!

if everyone would take 2 minutes of their time (literally) then we'd get somany cards!
