I was playing a friendly tvt mission on pxo when suddenly i was out of respawns.  Then i started toying around following people and i realized that it is much easier to follow people using the slide buttons when u are in observer mode ( +/- and 1/3) I think that these buttons should be usuable on cirten ships.  I think that some ships should have it, and just like an after burner when a cirten direction is pressed fuel is released in that specific direction.  You could make a ship that instead of having an afterburner, having the sliders? or a ship that has the afterburns and sliders but once the slider fuel is used it doesnt regenerate?
 well these are just my thoughts

Try flying the Shivan ships, most of them have sliding control.

All this information is based on the table files in fs2. All you need do is add a velocity for all three axis in the max velocity entry.

yeah if i remember correctly the 'slide' was never used in the game, only in observer mode...

fly a mara, its fun to slide around...its great for strafing capships if you can get decent velocity....

you're right

note that the '1 and 3' and the '+ and -' are on the numberpad to the far right of the keyboard, not in the middle above the characters.


someone mentioned the MARA could slide?  cool, i'll have to try it out

I never knew the Mara could slide with those controls.  I knew it slid if you did sharp turns and such.

its either the mara or the dragon (or both), but havent you ever noticed when you were fighting one, and it suddenly jumped 100 meters left?
