WoD Templates for Stellaris
So I recently statred another Stellaris-game and forgot to disable forced spawning on the Wings of Dawn-inspired factions I created from the information for the Forum Games. I am not going to keep you up to date on that game because a) its already in progress and b) I am using a "Determined Exterminator"-faction (which means I am basically already set on a campaign of galactic extermination of all biological life, which is boring to look at).

I thought that I finally share them.
I also have templates for the CSA and the Nodera in the works, but I have to go other Episode 2 with a fine comb and brush to finish those.

Note 1: These use Stellaris own sample template for the Human species. These have the Adaptive, Nomadic and Wasteful Traits (=settling them to non-Contiental type planets will have less penalities, Migration contributes to population growth, but each population costs more). To keep the Species consistent all empires have Contiental-type homeworlds.
Note 2: I don't own the MegaCrop DLC, which intoduced the "Cooperate" government authority. So even though that is propably a better fit for the UGC I cannot set it. (DLC for Stellaris tend to be rather expensive and the current discount is not cutting it yet IMO)
Note 3: Ethics and Government set parameters for the AI, esspecially who they will ally with and how aggressive they are by default. It also has an impact on the Ascension Path an Empire will take.

Sol Union
Starting Government:
- Democractic
Starting Ethics:
- Egalitarian
- Xenophile
- Pacifist
Starting Civics:
- Beacon of Liberty
- Parliamentary System
Founding Species: Humans (see above)
Ship Prefix: SFS
First Head of State: [Male] Hugo Clarkson
Locked Start: YES - Sol

Pacifist Empire can easy turn into "sleeping giants" as they expand, esspecially since them don't get involved into disputes over territory unless as part of an alliance. The shared Egalitarian Ethic will put them on good terms with UGC and a make an alliance likely, but the difference in government should keep those two apart for a while. The ideological and governmental opposition to New Britannia will make them natural enemies.

Delest Dynasty
Starting Government:
- Imperial
Starting Ethics:
- Fanatically Authoritarian
- Xenophobic
Starting Civics:
- Corvee System
- Syncretic Evolution
Founding Species: Humans (see above); Art-Humans (see below)
Ship Prefix: DD
First Head of State: [Female] Yu Ki Kohakuren Delest
Locked Start: No
Homeworld Parameters: Ihefulian-System, Ihefulian Prime (Contiental-type)
Second Species Traits:
- Serviles (don't contribute Leaders)
- Fleeting (- Leader Life Span)
- Wasteful (+ Pop Upkeep)
- Rapid Breeders (+ Pop Growth)
- Resilient (+ Defense Army Damage)

The DD basically is not going to get along with anyone, they will enjoy a little respect from the New Britannia AI because of the shared system of government. Xenophobic Empires are also more likely to engage in genetic modifications, including using the Biological Ascencion Path.

New Britannia
Starting Government:
- Imperial
Starting Ethics:
- Xenophile
- Militarist
- Spiritualist
Starting Civics:
- Aristocratic Elite
- Distinguished Admiralty
Founding Species: Humans (see above)
Ship Prefix: CRF
First Head of State: [Female] Amalia Arc Victoria
Locked Start: No
Homeworld Parameters: Carina-System, St. Heira (Contiental-type)

New Britannia are the warmongers among these kits, due to the ideological differences they are most likely to target the UGC and the DD. Also the only ones who will engage Psionics Research by default.

United Guilds of Commerce
Starting Government:
- Oligarchy
Starting Ethics:
- Fanatically Materialist
- Egalitarian
Starting Civics:
- Corperate Dominion
- Mining Guilds
Founding Species: Humans (see above)
Ship Prefix: UGCS
First Head of State: [Male] Ivanov Rubinsky
Locked Start: No
Homeworld Parameters: Formhault-System, Capital (Continental Type)

This is the output for an easy copy and paste to "user_empire_designs.txt" found in your {user data}/{documents}/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris (Windows Path) - each entry starts with the faction name in quotes and ends with a "}".
Note: If you don't have the Humanoids DLC, the game will ask you to swap out the ship-template for the SU.

Re: WoD Templates for Stellaris
Nice, seems pretty spot on.
The only trait I kind of question is Xenophile for the CRF. I'd put them towards a more neutral stance on xenoism

The game doesn't do unspend Ethic points, so I had to put the 3rd one somewhere :) - The foreign relations axis (Xenophile - Xenophobe) seemed the most appropriate, esspecially since assigning "Xenophile" makes the AI less aggressive.

There would be three other options: "Autocratic" or turning either of the other two Ethics into a fanatical one. ("Egalitarian" is out because that locks the government into Democratic/Oligarchic)

"Xenoism" - certainly a neologism :P

ps. another reason is that's how the template for the CSA looks right now

Re: WoD Templates for Stellaris
So I lied and never played with these over my birthday weekend...  :(

But I've changed the UGC to include the Megacorp dlc.

United Guilds of Commerce
Starting Government:
 - Corporation (Administrative capacity +20, Empire Sprawl Penalty +50%)
Starting Ethics:
 - Fanatically Materialist
 - Egalitarian
Starting Civics:
- Franchising (effect of Subsidiary Subject Pwr on relations reduced by 33%, Impact of Branch Offices on Empire sprawl decreased by 25%)
- Free Traders (Trade Value +10%, Branch Office Value +10%)

With those settings, could also do:
Brand Loyalty - Monthly Unity +15%
Criminal Heritage - Cannot join federations or commercial pacts, can build branch offices on planets of regular empires with no war or active truce, crime on branch office planets increases branch value, can built special crime increasing corporate buildings.

Media Conglomerate - War Exhaustion gain -5%, Citizen Pop Happiness +5%
Private Prospectors - Private colony ship, Adminstrative Cap +10
Ruthless Competition - Leader level cap +1, Leader Experience gain +10%
Trading Posts - Starbase capacity +4

And these 4 are unavailable:

Gospel of the Masses - Spiritualist pops give additional trade value on all planets and branch offices, can built Temple of Prosperity, Spiritual Ethics attraction +50%. Requires some degree of Spiritualist ethic
Indentured Assets - Slave output +10%, Enslaved pop ratio 40%. Requires some degree of Authoritarian.
Naval Contractors - Naval Capacity +15%. Requires some degree of Militarist
Private Military Companies - Army Damage +20%, Army Upkeep -20%. Requires some degree of Militarist.
Current Activities/Projects: Ideas and some storyline completed.
