THIS GAME ROCKS! It's like FS/FS2 meets Star Wars: X-wing  Alliance

Excellent Graphics:eek2:, Fairly good AI, AWESOME WEAPONS(Rail gun :drool: ), BIG Capships, SHIELDED CAP-SHIPS Animated Ships(Tachyon gates, and a few others), "see through" textures(like glass), Good voice acting(Bruce Campbell as Jake Logan), 11 player flyable ships(5 for the two races *Galspan and Bora* and Logans Ship), cocpit detail(You can see the cocpit, and you can see yourself in the cocpit from the exterior camera!), the ability to travel from sector to sector via Tachyon gates, and there are even BEAM weapons, but only for the Capships(Armageddon Laser )

Only draw backs, some REALLY hard missions, no debris from dead ships, don't think there are any mods for it

I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who plays FS/FS2, it's incredible!

Well, that was sort of a :thepimp: post, but it was worth it!

I had looked for mods, but found none.  Its still worth buying.  Cannucks can find it for under $20 in stores (I saw it at EB and I think Blockbuster)  sweet game.  A few other things:  make sure to patch, you'll be happier;  the slide button (sweet); and the slots mini-game in the Frontier Sector.  GO buy now.  It was the last decent FSish game to have come out, until Freelancer does.

I also forgot to add that it feels like Wing Commander(Bora Carrier looks like the Snakier off of WC movie)

Tachyon wasnt one of my favorite games because of bugs and annoying gameplay. Traveling all the way back and forth to your star base...then you have the dock video...its annoying. It seems like most of the time you're babysitting because everything else just sucks.

The upside is that the story is pretty cool in my opinion, I've never gotten to the end of the game because of game bugs though!

Very buggy. You can sell a weapon unlimited times for $, unless you actually drag it back to the buy list-I discovered this by accident in the first 30-60 minutes of  playing. Hopefully this isn't in the full version .

I have tried to play it a few times, but some missions are really difficult, and after failing the same mission 20 times, it's difficult to get up the urge to play on.

Looked like it had a decent story though, just could never bring myself to finish it.

I tried the demo like 2 years ago and said "This sucks!" the only reason I wanted to try it was cause of Bruce...

Is Star Lancer gonna be an alligence clone (U know pay $10 a month for a weak FS clone?)... I swear Microsoft is like 80% CRAP and gets it right about 20% (if that)...

Maybe I should have given the full version a try.... Oh well too much devoted to FS to start another space sim now... My time is divided between FS(#1),EQ(#2),and MW4BK(#3)... That's it no time to play anything else!!!!

when it comes to games, Microsoft is good ( well, mainly coz it's not the microsof coders that do the games I suppose, but billou's minions are good to find what will sell well ). if you ask me, Starlancer is so/so, and can't bear the comparison with FS2.

Tachyon is ok.... it's quite fun, but it lacks the genius of FS2.  I'm not sure it looks any better either, despite the fact it has some very neat graphical tricks.

The one thing that pisses me off is that the Bora (one of the factions you can choose) don;t have any guided missiles.

But, not bad.  You can get it for a £5 in quite a few shops in the Uk, and it's worth it.

Yep, that really makes flying fun. Though it also makes the game a bit too easy sometimes (I recall AI didn't slide, or anyway didn't use it well enough to be noticeable..).
