did u ever tried to import it in TS???..it works..but u need the solidify plugin in order to make the damn thing solid

well depend on what version of LW is the file..it worked nice with 6.5 impoorted in TS43...
solidify ..go a google search for solidify free truespace plugin

Wouldn't 'weld vertices' or 'close holes (whatever the name is)' work?

weld vertecies takes the selected edges/faces and combines them into 1 vertex...probably not...

close holes....you actually expect people to use a TS 'feature' like that?! Probably almost as dangerous as booleans...
