I own the gog version of Freespace 2 and can install and play some of the mode but everytime I try one that comes accross (dl.fsnebula.org) file it freezes and doesn't go past it.

I've tried resinstalling both the gog and knossos versions of the game and knossos itself, as well as retrying the downloads but it never gets past that one part.

That's odd, and needless to say it shouldn't be doing that.

If you go into KnossosNET's Settings tab, you can see a list of mirrors in the first group of settings.  Try unchecking that mirror.

Alright, thank you for sure; it seems to have worked and I can play what I've been wanting to now.

I have played Freespace 2 and its mods on and off, just now it seems to have that issue; although I am playing on windows 11, so idk if it's that or how I set it up by putting the library to the installed game or something else. It's been a bit since I've used Freespace 2.

By any chance, does having the library folder set to the game install folder cause issues like that? I have made it a seperate but I don't know if it would still be a lingering issue.

Well, typically library folders are set to another folder.  The default is C:\Games\FreeSpaceOpen.  But although setting the library folder to the game install folder will make things messy, I don't think it will actually cause any issues.

Posting to confirm I've had the same issue and resolved it the same way with the mirrors - however, for me the issue kept happening with cf.fsnebula.org. Based on the advice here I unchecked that as well as dl.fsnebula.org, so that only talos.feralhosting.com was checked. After that, no issues downloading at all

Thanks, this is good to know.  I'm not sure what might be causing the issue, but at least this is another piece of data.
