Red alert mission block
Post here because I still haven't managed to fix it.

Basically, as I am working on Chapter 3 of FoW, I am mostly focusing on fixing up Chapter 2 and I ran into a cuple of snags - missions that used to work when I released the campaign years ago now don't. I had to re-create a mission or two completely as they wouldn't even open in FRED.

Long story short, I have a sequence of red alter missions:
M4 - start of chain, only Alpha wing has red alert status
M4r - middle mission, several escape pods are suppsoed to warp in. They have red alert status since they should carry over to to next mission
M4rr - last mission, alpha wing nad surviving pods should appear

What happens is that the event that triggers the pods arrival happens (destroyer gets damaged, send evacuation message). The escape pods aren't arriving. They are set to arrive via docking bay. Chaning to hyperspace changes nothing. Theirspecific arrival condition is is-event-true, with the event being the destroyer getting damaged (that IS triggering).

Re: Red alert mission block
Have you tried replacing the use of the Red Alert Carry-status with a set of "Save on mission progress"-variables?
"As you sought to steal a kingdom for yourself, so must you do again, a thousand times over. For a theft, a true theft, must be practiced to be earned." - The terms of Nyrissa's curse, Pathfinder: Kingmaker

"When you work with water, you have to know and respect it. When you labour to subdue it, you have to understand that one day it may rise up and turn all your labours into nothing. For what is water, which seeks to make all things level, which has no taste or colour of its own, but a liquid form of Nothing?" - Graham Swift, Waterland

Re: Red alert mission block
No, never used that one before.

I guess a possible solution would be to save every Escape pods hull at mission end and then re-create every individual ship in the next mission?

EDIT: I'm not finding that SEXP in the wiki?

https://wiki.hard-light.net/index.php/Retail_SEXPs#modify-variable

You need to create variable first, or it will be greyed out

You will want to replace the number argument (2nd argument) with this

Re: Red alert mission block
Can you post or PM the red-alert missions in question?  I could run them through a debugger to find out what specifically isn't working.
