I guess this goes here:
1) File.vp --> file.7z:
- Compression level: Ultra, LZMA2, Dictionary=64 MB, Word size=273, Solid, max Cores, memory Usage=80%
- Compression goes between 14% --> 56%(35% avg), root_fs2.vp compresses 87.3%(6.108 MB --> 0.77 MB)
- Download 7-Zip 26.00 (2026-02-12) decompresses very fast.
- You can even compress the file.vp objects as a single file.7z instead, and add a decompression layer, transparent to all Campaigns and Mods.
- Movies 37% --> 50%
All this is just the Stock game, All Mods/files could benefit from this too.

2) Why Knossos have to "Install" the already Installed FS 2 Retail, it just duplicates ~2 GB of .vp  & .mve files. I have installed MVPS and the rest of the bundle & NTF Skins; & the Duplicated FS2 Retail files haven't been altered, so it's just taking storage space. So make the Game Recognize the Retail files only, and use them on. Even the Retail has like 10 duplicated files, ~0.5 GB, makes no sense neither.

knossos.net already has a compression feature.

You can also uninstall retail FS2 after knossos.net copies it.
