Celebrating new mainhall features! Many thanks to Yarn and ngld who finally succumbed to my nagging and gave me what I wanted.
First up, the BtA demo mainhall remastered in HD. It looks really nice, I must say.
Next we have a demo of some yet to be committed features for playing animations on top of door or button animations. (previously impossible). So those Christmas lights are a separate animation from the door itself. The next feature is control over the mainhall cheats. So, I type in one phrase to add a sign above the door that says '5 Cents Per Dance' and another cheat to add lights to a door up top right.
The cheats are cool, but it's the animations over doors that really opens up the possibilities. I can now have characters walk in front of working door buttons. Or, in the case shown third... I can fake interactive lighting.
So next I show the mainhall (possibly previously unshown publicly?) for BtA's central campaign. It has also been completely remastered in HD and will render up to 1920x1080 without stretching. It uses the animations over doors function to mix lighting between a random light and light from a door that opens.
It also makes use of the new feature that allows me to specify N number of doors/buttons and link them to various game states or even scripting. This mainhall has 9 working clickable areas including multiplayer working alongside single.
Oh, and the Help table stuff! (Gawd that table sucks to work with... but I'm glad I can set it up properly for my mainhalls now!)
Hells yeah. (Also, I wasn't wearing my headphones and didn't realize I screwed up the audio for the BtA mainhall until after I recorded the video. Oops. Oh well, guess you'll have to wait and see what the doors will sound like!)
PS: I'm fully aware that few get as excited over this stuff as I do... Too bad.
