Seeing the Shiamak never fails to strike fear.

No, it does not

Thought I'd share the love of blue shivans with HLP. Enjoy!

I was going to single that picture out for praise in the WCS thread, but it will be easier here. Nice job getting it so they both get torpedoed at the same time like that.

Good luck with the mod, I like seeing these updates.

this engine sure has come a long way...
i highly doubt, chris roberts will be able to beat us :D
(well, of course he will as far as graphics go, but if his game is going to have half the features of FS2 at this point i'll be deeply impressed)

Well, Star Citizen has FPS gameplay (boarding) + the classic space sim + persistant universe for the multiplayer. So sur Star Citizen will have more features than FS 2 SCP.

Apparently in Star Citizen, you'll be able to team up co-operatively with friends in multi-crewed ships like the Constellation and work together Millenium Falcon-style - i.e. players can man gun turrets, launch in a snub fighter, or navigate the ship's full 3D interior in real-time doing other things (i.e. FPS boarding action stuff). I don't quite see that happening in FS2 :)

But realistically - Star Citizen will have it's strengths and weaknesses in some areas, FS2 in others. I'll play them both and enjoy them both accordingly.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Like in my Retaliator 5 add people can man the turrets. Overall 6 people. And the Idris from the side:

Its for 10 people and can dock 2 fighters. Because all rooms are detailed a 140m corvette like this are more bigger then a 4km Freespace 2 ship. You can walk around all over the place. Like in the missile turret:

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Star Citizen has a lot of potential. If it will live up to its potential is another thing entirely. Robert's games were always preempted by a lot of exagerated hype.

If only you'd been referring to the movie, that would have made sense. Wing Commander never really had that problem, though; ditto Starlancer.

Maybe Freelancer did.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
There are many hints that suggest that Freelancer did have that problem. It'll be great if that is the only game ever made by Chris Roberts that fails to meet the pre-release hype surrounding it.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Freelancer was not from him. He make the early design and concept but he left Digital Anvil in Early 2001. The Game was released in 2003. The Team worked 2 years with Jörg Neumann. In 2001 CR already worked in Hollywood. Mobygames listet the Crew: http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/freelancer

But in one of the latest Wingmans Hangar Rob says what is SC? Its a Space Sim. Not like Wing Commander, Privateer and Freelancer. More like X-Wing and Freespace. Manual Landings, Shipconfigs by the Shipcomputer and so on. No Arcade/Action Casual Game :P Means you need Joystick or Gamepad or Mouse with Keyboard. A lots of keys to push! ;)
