Painting is actually not very saturated. I'm not using many bright colors in this fleet, and the Factory ship is only painted vessel. It's actually not the fault of the shinemap.

In my continuing quest to ensure that nothing in FreeSpace is used for what was intended I bring you this short video.

Axem, you say, animated glow maps are nothing new.

But I'm not using an animated glow map!

I was inquiring about using team colors with glow maps and Kobrar so nicely made me some modified shaders that use the blue and alpha channels on the misc map as the base and stripe colors for the team color settings.

This is sort of just proof of concept right now, I have no idea if these shaders or the way Kobrar implemented them are the way that FSO wants to go, but know this, Axem now has the power destroy your visual cortex in so many new ways now. You have been warned.

(Also the color changing was just a change-team-color sexp)

TBP + Zathras 2.8 + FSO 3.7.0; put some polies in there and it can hold its own...

That beam audio just does not fade properly from left to right channels.

Apparently Open AL Soft is supposed to be able to fix that issue, but I have not had any luck on that yet.

On a side note, this IS the beam fire sound I've been waiting for. It reminds me of the Colossus beaming a Rakshasa in the FreeSpace 2 Trailer.

Do you intend for it to have a specific role (like the artillery Narayanas), or is it a replacement for / predecessor of the Karuna?
