The SCP was still kicking some serious ass 8 years ago I see.

I'd like to see that video with current mediavps and shadowbuilds though.

Uh... it means I'm impressed with what the game was looking like 8 years ago. :)

Stabbing Westward. Too bad they are gone... Anyway. It's still one of the best FSO videos ever made.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Flail SCP is still one of the best FS2/FSO/MediaVPs promo vids out there IMO - captures everything awesome about FreeSpace while "in the pilot's seat".
While the more modern trailer is nice and shows off the shiny well, it shows very little of what the gameplay is like.

Oh, pretty ... a really huge improvement!
"As you sought to steal a kingdom for yourself, so must you do again, a thousand times over. For a theft, a true theft, must be practiced to be earned." - The terms of Nyrissa's curse, Pathfinder: Kingmaker

==================

"I am Curiosity, and I've always wondered what would become of you, here at the end of the world." - The Guide/The Curious Other, Othercide

"When you work with water, you have to know and respect it. When you labour to subdue it, you have to understand that one day it may rise up and turn all your labours into nothing. For what is water, which seeks to make all things level, which has no taste or colour of its own, but a liquid form of Nothing?" - Graham Swift, Waterland

"...because they are not Dragons."

Re: A celebration of Freespace
The work this community has put in to this game, is simple extraordinary.
I've never heard of any other community or ANYONE, continue development of a game at this level when it's just being done by fans of the series on their freetime.
You guys deserve much more for your hard work. And I'm honored and so thankful to be able to enjoy the works of this community.
So a big thank you to you all.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
you're welcome

oh and GEOMOD is happening
well, in a way, i've decided to really make many of the armour plates on my new ship destroyable, so you can see inside

oh boy, modeling all this interior sure does take a lot of time, even if it is so rudimentary
>>Fully functional cockpits for Freespace<<
>>Ships created by me<<
Campaigns revised/voice-acted by me:

Other Campaigns I have participated in:
The Antagonist, Warzone, Phantoms & Echo-Gate

All the stuff I release is free to use or change in any way for everybody who likes to do so; take whatever you need

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Is the armor gonna be in large chunks or smaller ones?  Large ones allows weapon strikes to gouge large depressions in the hull, but it might look weird if a strike near the edge of an armor segment results in an apparent explosion and damage from the center.  Smaller segments give more variation but eat up the subsystem limit more.  Are you gonna also include some submodel debris so bits can fly off when an armor segment is destroyed?
