Light like the Republic Commando weapons? Almost like using pea shooters?

One game that has always impressed me with the satisfaction I get from using the weapons is Halo (and Halo 2).

I totally wish my computer could run this game...

dodge mode + pistol = headshots a plenty! :p

do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,
and less likely to stab you in the eye with a mechanical pencil

I'm really quite excited by this game. It felt really nice. My only gripe was that the weapons felt a little "light" if that makes any sense.

Aside from that, it's very promising.

Yes. A laser gun that disintegrates flesh. How very 'light.'
Wh00t!? Vinyl? Is it like an I-pod 2 or something?

There isn't IMO a sense of '**** me, this is powerful' in the guns, which I think is what you mean.

I thought they were generally okay. I've seen more powerful looking stuff in other games, but they were still pretty decent.

FS1's weapons actually suffered from this, although FS2 corrected it in a big way.

I think the game with the best weapons I've seen to date is Nightfire 007. The PC version was in general heavily cut down compared to the PS2 one (several missions and weapons were removed for some inexplicable reason), but there was one weapon unique to the PC version that still ranks as the best I have ever seen in terms of sheer coolness factor.

Best weapon I can think of the RCP-90 from goldeneye64; even thought it was (IIRC) basically a renamed P-90, there was something incredibly cool about the noise and fire rate.... made it sound as if it was shredding people.

In a word... yes :)

Only played through 30 seconds of the demo.  I'll get around to finishing it after I get home tonight.

I like what I see so far.  The atmosphere is well-done; it's creepy.  I grab the health booster and see a shadow move, I spin around and see a little girl dash past.  I follow... and find an empty blind corner.

Running on an AthlonXP 2600+ with a heavily overclocked (but not unlocked which puts it at an overclocked 6600GT's level) 6800LE I've most of the settings at Medium, Maximum Shaders, FSAA 2x and 1024x768.

Nominal FPS is 40ish but I think I'll have to turn off the FSAA.

I love the shadow effects.  What I've seen so far is very effective.  I also fired a shot at a fire extinguisher and killed myself.

Oh, and lamp on hat == the win
