I wish I knew what snow looked like in real life...last time I saw something remotely close was in the himalayas 10+ years ago...and it was more of slush than snow...........

Oh...and the only thing that prevented us from going to school in india were riots and civil unrest. No matter how bad the weather was, we'd still ahve to crawl, beg or somehow mangle our way to the school........

We had 50 cm of snow (though that was only localized, the rest was about 10-15 cm) and -12°C at night here. It's quite... special for something like that to happen here.

I love it! :D

A few kids made a snowball about 2 meters high and rolled it down a hill. It crashed right into a van and left a big round dent in the side. Hilarious as hell. :D

Aw and hehehe.

It would of been funny to see the kids get caught up in it too. Just like the cartoons. :p

Which really is the worst way to go.... I mean, killed by a snowball.  It's about the same as being killed by a falling marshmallow or mauled by fluffy white kittens.

And off of the bbc website;

People in this country are such pussies when it comes to weather. It snows for 5 minutes, they run in circles, close all the schools, and take the day off work.

Hang on, maybe they're onto something...

EDIT: aldo - there's no way that kid is 5 feet tall... :wtf:

Here, the schools will only close if it's -20°C or lower for a few days or if there's a meter of snow on the roads :p

Doesn't have to be.... about 4-feet tall or so, probably.  Piccy's angled a bit, anyways....

Although, who cares.  Point is that it's a ****ing huge snowman.  A snow beast, even, and worthy of our worship.

Damn right - huge snowmen always deserve respect...

And it's not really cold yet:

When skies did clear, night-time temperatures plunged. A minimum of -21 °C was recorded at Woburn in Bedfordshire early on 25 February.

Very light snow year. We have only about 3 or 4 feet in the yard, and it's melted down multiple times over the year.

Here schools close at -30 or -40. It doen't really matter, as the temperature hasn't gone that down in my lifetime. Then again, I live on the coast where it's nice and warm :D
