:p (aldos' obligatory grumpy old man stylee post for today....)

Honestly, we used to get feet of snow (and by we I mean the UK) in winter, and we'd skip along to work regardless.  Nowadays you see a couple of flakes and it's down to the bomb shelters.......

EDIT; sandwich, what's showing today then?

When I was a boy, we used to walk 15 miles through the snow to school, uphill both ways!

The opening of a cinema at a school in Sandwich, planned for Wednesday evening, has also been cancelled because of the weather.

Poor guy, he was really looking forward to having that cinema opened up in him.

What can I say... I just got out of the snow. I'm too far west for it to make much difference to my life though. I find it hard to believe we're having trouble with this though...

The odd thing is that I live in Kent and it isn't even snowing here. :wtf:

I heard about the severe weather causing disruptions in Kent and I was thinking that they meant floods. The thought of snow never even crossed my mind.

I don't think it's the amount that's the problem so much as the fact that no one was expecting it in the slightest.

Pfft, you soft south-europeans can't stand a bit of snow. Come here up north and enjoy near -20C weather :p

It's surprising how some Americans I know think:  Two inches of snow?  You're so lucky!  You've got a snow day!

Ahhh, we've got more like two feet right now...

We're not in the south, though.  Least I'm not; think Glasgow is about level with Russia IIRC.

Bloody odd this. According to the reports there were severe disruptions in Rochester. That's about 15 miles away and I haven't seen so much as a snowflake settle. :wtf:

lol aldo is that FarCry?

I've never seen snow personally.

I'm used to the 26-35 degrees temp here in South east QLD Aus.

I used to live further up north where it was usually hotter.

Step out on a warm day and the tar from the roads would stick to your pluggas.

Ugh, I have to drive to work now, and I can already see there's some more snow settled outside (in Surrey) so now I hate living on a hill... :mad2:

We pretty consistently get up to the mid 40s for at least two weeks in January where I live when not at uni(About 100 kms away from the coast) but you win for the humidity.

I honestly think if we ever got snow here in Perth, even if it was onl a few flakes, they'd probably cancel work/school so we could go enjoy it.

Gotta back you there, during my recent road trip to Dunnet Head we encountered snow storms with visibility of about a meter infront of the car at best - the only way we could see anything else was by its brake lights.

I went there once iirc - is it the place with the lighthouse?  (ie: the road just stops, and you have to head south again?)

lol.

It looks alot like the guys in FarCry, and I havn't played Doom3 for a while now. Now that I think of it, I don't recall any of those dudes actually walking around, just a few bodies in that crane room or something...?

Black wolf, aye the humidity is probably the biggest pain, it could be only 28, but you sweat so much you stick to your car seat... =/

Mind I'd hate to be walking around in mid 40's... :p
