It was designed really to be a police helicopter, not an army one, so I suspect armour was traded for visibliity.

Airwolfs ability to carry 16 internally mounted Hellfires was always impressive, specially since they are Anti-Tank missiles, and yet always used to get used on Migs Admittedly, the AGM 114 is smaller than some cannon rounds, but still, where exactly did Stringfellow Hawk buy this stuff?
