This is a listing under engines. And won't Aftermath use the same engine as Half-Life 2?

Oh please. It's a "2". Note how the bottom part is much thicker than the top. That wouldn't be the case if it was a "3", since all lines are equidistant from each other. But in the "2", you have the foot and the curve close to each other in the bottom left.

Trust me, it's a 2.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Looks like a 5 to me :nervous:

BTW, I see NCSoft, does this mean we might expect some MMOs on the XBox?

Sorry, but I don't believe so. Otherwise that is one funky looking 2.

Does it really matter? I'm sure they're going to make a Half Life 3 - but after HL2 I'm going to be a lot less optimistic than I was the first time they announed a sequel.

The engine is technically called 'Source', anyways; plus Valve had already said they'd build HL3 on Source (to state it wouldn't take as long as 2).  I would expect the Source engine itself to be ported to the next gen consoles, though; it's economical sense to do so.

Bear in mind you can't tell the number anyways, because it's a compressed JPG.  Because JPG matches, IIRC, regions in the image to a table of set pixel patterns when compressing (not to mention any noise data in the image before compression), you probably won't get a reliable image from scaled up images; just look at how indistinct the letters in 'Half life' are, for example.

Too bad the guy who took the picture didn't care to notice, I guess.

[color=66ff00]Yeah, Source is the engine. I don't see why they would name HL3 under engines unless they were trying to get some attention from people who were not aware that the game and engine were not the same thing i.e. the press.

Like I said, I don't want an XBOX JUST for 1 game.
