Winamp with the Invicta skin, so it's minimized to the bar on top of my screen. Gives me some problems when viewing videos occassionally, but otherwise, it's great.

[color=66ff00]I use MPC for vids and DVD's on windows, winamp 2.91 for music (it's light, fast and has a plethora of good skins which just happen to be entirely compatible with XMMS).

On *nix I use mplayer which is probably the most reliable player I've ever seen. It'll play just about anything you throw at it including DVD's (the lack of menu handling is a bit of a bummer though). XMMS handles all of my music.

I've used Winamp in the past and I find it has better sound quality than WMP, but after my last reformat I don't have Winamp anymore and I'm too lazy to download again on dial-up. Besides, WMP has the cool minimized miniplayer and its the only player that interfaces fully with my hotkeys on my keyboard
Derek Smart is his own oxymoron.

FLAC and OGG plugins have been available for WinAmp for years.

I use WinAmp 2.95 for audio (anything after that is bloatware), and Media Player Classic for video.

Green Software's GSPlayer!
Great on the PPC (for audio) and the Win32 port is tiny!

Seriously though I do like Winamp 5.  WMP has never really bothered me much for video playback, but I have wanted something that doesnt take up as much resources when watching one of my Divx rips.
